On the spot!
Last Thursday, April 29, 2010, Marion concluded that the system that his immediate supervisor wants to be computerized could not be done. This is because it is only data entry, and can be implemented by using only Microsoft Excel and not by Visual Basic 2010 programming software. If it would be done by using this programming software, the scope of putting this into action in the system will be complex. To simplify the work, Marion just studied "on the spot" the main features of the Excel after reporting and presenting his computerized system to his supervisor. This features are the printing which includes editing the layout of print preview, formatting which handles the formation of cells and how it is be manipulated, and using built-in tools like adding borders, margins and vice versa. This task is simply understanding the controls that makes Excel usable especially on reports that needs matrices. Luckily, the wanted output has occurred in the hard copy that takes much time of printing for the reason that Marion forgot to fast draft it.

Brainstorming
To generate useful ideas on system computerization, the group had shared different insights regarding analysis of system data flows from their respective computerization fields. The Brainstorming technique was initialized by Sir Leo of HR Department of Metro Stonerich Corporation to gather information from the group, which has more understanding on programming practices as he said. He asked if what suits better in a particular system module and how it will output, and the group answered what they think what are interfaces or codes that will go best. The brainstorming takes lot of time for Sir Leo and for the group because he wants this project to be implemented on their current system for the reason that this company doesn't make use of proper time management as also he said. Marion just concluded that this company implements their most transactions manually. Sir Leo asked the group to convert MS Access programs downloaded by him from the web to Microsoft Visual Basic. These programs are Payroll system, Human Resource Management System and Employee Appraisals. The group must reprogram all of these to Visual Basic, and update-and-integrate it as what Sir Leo wants. Sir Leo also will provide a sketch, a bubble sketch as he said, for the group to fully understand what are the features that must be include in the computerized system. The brainstorming was started 9AM and ended by 3PM yesterday, April 19, 2010.
Marion had finished the data entry module of Vehicle Inventory System by yesterday and had showed it to his immediate supervisor, Sir Dante. Sir Dante seemed to be non-IT minded on that day than Sir Leo for the reason of busy-ness and hot climate that made him irritate, Marion thinks.

Shiften
Because of the long travel and financial circumstances, Marion decided for a company shift for his job training. He chose his first choice of company which is Metro Stonerich Corporation refered by Orlando because it is only located here in Quezon City than Woodhaven Coporation refered by Joanne that is located in Valenzuela City. His office hours in his first company was 8AM to 5PM every Monday, Tuesday, Thursday and Friday. And travel consumes one and a half hours includes traffic. This can be concluded as an hectic phenomena.
By April 15, 2010, Marion made an interview at Metro Stonerich Corporation and had passed it. He signed an application form for the corporation stating his personal info, desired allowance and vice versa. Then, he assigned by the interviewer to the Logistics Department based on his skills. His immediate supervisor is Sir June but Sir June couldn't make it on that day so the vice supervisor, Sir Dante oriented Marion for his works and duties. Currently, his new groupmates are now Christian, Charlou, Orlando and Ercilyn.
While Marion is assigned at Logistics Department, Christian and Ercilyn are assigned at HR Department. They are responsible for the computerization of the specific current system of that department that is assigned by their supervisor. Meanwhile, Orlando and Charlou are assignned at Unknown-for-now Department and also doing the computerize thing.

The New Cast
The summer class has begun. Joanne and Marion made their enrollment while Jacquiline and Jhanry made it last week. Jomel, the new cast of the group decided to go with us in Valenzuela City to have his interview with Ma'am Carol of Woodhaven Corporation. If Marion and Jhanry are positioned in Globe Telecom, and Joanne and Jacquiline are in HR department, Jomel, the new cast is currently in the Accounting department. He's very grateful because the hard time finding a good company that makes his computer skills put into action puts an end by accepting him by Woodhaven as an official trainee of their company.
The Parent's Waiver form is not yet signed by the parent of each of the group. And because of this, they have decided to make an half-day for tomorrow. The group will see each other in STI at 10AM to give the form to Sir Alwin and will be signed by him and also by Ms. Calma. Then, they will proceed to Woodhaven and will ready to their job orientation assessed Ms. Carol. Their time interval is approximately 4 hours on their work including the orientation. It's about 1-5PM.
Each and everyone of the group experienced exhaustion and heat stress today because of intense heat and pollutions. And traffic.

Getting the requirements
The summer class will start on April 12, 2010 and by now, the group aren't still enrolled. This is because they have planned to enroll last friday but they did not knew that on that day, its a regular holiday, "Bataan Day". So the group planned to make their enrollment on the first class of summer.
Marion had just downloaded all the requirements for the OJT from his STI mail, marionjeff.doctolero@novaliches.sti.edu sent by Sir Alwin Abalajen which is their Practicum Adviser. This includes the Parent's Waiver form and the Recommendation Sheet for the company. After inputting all the necessary information on the Parent's Waiver form, he gave copies of these to his group mates through email. He asked Joanne to inform Jhanry and Jacquiline about the attachments on their emails via SMS. He also asked her if she wanted to include the Recommendation sheet for printing and then Joanne said, "OO".
Woodhaven Corporation also needs a requirement for their trainees. The one who interviewed the group asked them to have an "Endorsement sheet" to their employee. The info about that staff is kept by Jhanry in a yellow sticky-note given by her.
Woodhaven Corporation accepted the current trainees without any allowance. The interviewer said on the last meeting that they allowed allowances for their previous trainees. The minimum allowance is P50 and the maximum is P100 per day. But these allowance rule was removed by the head office because of the previous trainees who comes late and failed to show in the office during work hours.
After all of those activities, Marion had begun to make a blog about their OJT activities. He planned to have a website with an interface of "The Dark Knight" that is Batman.
